Mount Carmel Guild seeks Dietician
Join our team in this fulfilling, part time or should you choose full time position for a Registered Dietician to serve as the Director of our Comprehensive Nutritional Counseling (CNC) Program. Mount Carmel Guild, located in Trenton, has served the poor and needy people of Mercer County for over 80 years. We provide “a helping hand” to children, ailing seniors and impoverished individuals and families.
As the Director of the Guild's CNC Program, which operates as part of our Emergency Assistance unit, you will oversee the program and enable it to achieve its goal to support the medical and nutritional needs of individuals living with HIV/AIDS within our community. You will provide nutrition assessment and counseling of persons with chronic disease and provide patients with supplemental foods, vitamins and nutritional supplements. In addition, you will manage staff and work closely with patients’ physicians and other care providers to identify and treat nutritional issues such as malnutrition, diabetes and obesity. You will also oversee the NJ State grant that funds the CNC program.
The qualified candidate will have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Dietetics or Nutrition.
- Be eligible to sit to become a Registered Dietician with the American Dietetic Association.
- Excellent communication skills, good judgment and be able to establish good rapport with clients.
- Prior experience in managing the nutritional needs of persons with HIV/AIDS is preferred.
- Experience in medical nutrition therapy and/or managing grants a plus but not required.
